 I have spent my entire professional life helping to make the Spokane area a better place to live. While serving in the Legislature, I focused on providing more choices for affordable health care and reducing the tax and regulatory burdens placed on small businesses. I've worked to support public safety and stay tough on crime.
In my own business, I have had the opportunity to champion issues at the state level that benefitted our community. I have fought for economic development tools that could be incorporated into future growth. I have championed funding for infrastructure improvments like the widening of I-90, the Evergreen Interchange, the Geiger rail spur, and the North Spokane Corridor. I have also worked to ensure our higher education institutions are able to meet future needs of students.
As a business owner, I have the experience of starting and operating a small business in this community. There is never the same appreciation for regulations, taxes, and burdens placed on those wishing to pursue the "American Dream" until you have actually attempted it.
I intend to bring a common sense approach to government and I will work hard to champion issues important to our community.
Todd Mielke has worked hard to solve our state's problems. He'll work just as hard for us as a Spokane County Commissioner!
